Well us Aussies are about to get a big performance boost with it. Dropbox is about to install a proxy server in Sydney, which will improve upload and download speeds to and from it's US data centres.
Dropbox’s head of solutions architecture for APAC, Daniel Iversen, states “It sounds a bit counterintuitive at first to have an extra layer between the user and the Dropbox cloud in the US, but it makes it a lot faster. It doesn’t store any data but instead what it does is optimise the network connectivity between the users and the Dropbox cloud".
